Teaching is a team sport and being able to work well with colleagues is critical to both the health and well-being of the educator, and the outcomes for the students they serve. Social emotional learning is taught best by modeling positive behaviors and strategies to our students. Among the promising strategies for improving student outcomes is ensuring that their instruction occurs in settings with high quality interactions among all the members of the classroom.
This webinar will discuss how to promote positive relationships with colleagues in the classroom. Drawing from the latest research in the field, teachers will be provided with evidence-based strategies for promoting educator relationships skills in the classroom through an applied research to practice lens. These skills will increase your ability to form healthy, sustainable relationships with your colleagues and model good relationship skills for your students.

Presented by: Christina Cipriano, Ph.D
Dr. Cipriano is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. An Applied Developmental and Educational Psychologist, and Jack Kent Cooke Scholar, her research focuses on serving vulnerable youth through systematic examination of the interactions within their homes, schools, and communities to promote pathways to optimal developmental outcomes. She is currently a Service Learning Fellow and Community Engaged Research Scholar at the University of Massachusetts, where she directs a team of student and faculty researchers committed to improving outcomes for students and teachers in classrooms serving students with special learning needs. Dr. Cipriano has extensive experience working in classrooms with diverse student and teacher populations, providing training to teachers and support staff, and direct instruction to students. Dr. Cipriano is the Principal Investigator of several funded research to practice projects and regularly disseminates her science in both academic journals and professional development workshops for pre-service and in-service educators and school personnel. Dr, Cipriano completed three years of post-doctoral training at the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence, and received her Ph.D. from the Lynch School of Education at Boston College in Applied Developmental and Educational Psychology, Masters in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and Certificate in Human Rights and International Justice from the Boston College Law School.
At Rethink Ed, Dr. Cipriano currently serves as the Project Manager for the evidence-based SEL solution including training, assessment, and classroom management tools across all tiers of learning (Tier 1, 2, & 3). She directs program design, content writing, and assessment methodology, and recruits and supervises a larger team of content creators.
